MLK Day of Song & Service

THANK YOU FOR SERVING!
Thank you to everyone who made our MLK Day of Song & Service a great success. Over 200 volunteers, including local residents, students, teachers, parents, and 50 Google employees showed what can happen when people come together to serve. Thank you also to all the local musicians of all ages who came and shared their music and art with us. Thank you to John O'Connell High School for welcoming us to your campus in San Francisco's Mission District, and to the Cesar Chavez Foundation who made the funding for this event possible. It was a truly unforgettable day.
Here are a few media coverage highlights:

The front page of the San Francisco Chronicle (see photo to right) features a photo from our morning "Spirit Break" that capped off the opening ceremony.
Mission Local, an online media source covering San Francisco's Mission District, put together a video story on our event.
The Official Google Blog posted a story on Googlers who served with us, including the Black Googler Network, who organized employees to spend the day volunteering.
Northern California's KQED public radio broadcasted a story on the event and the California National Guard band's participation.
